Battery Standard
Our battery floor
Every laptop we sell ships with at least 80% battery health. If a battery is below that when the laptop comes in, we replace it before it is listed.
What we measure
- Health: how much charge the battery holds today compared with when it was new.
- Cycle count: how many full charges it has been through.
- Measured runtime: how long the laptop actually ran in our standard video-loop test, using the same settings for every laptop.
All three are shown on the product page.
Covered by your warranty
The battery is covered by the 12-month warranty like every other part. If it stops charging, won’t hold a charge or swells, we fix or replace it. Normal, gradual loss of capacity over time is not a fault.
Want a new battery?
Ask us before you order. Where a new battery is available for a model, we can fit one for an extra charge.
Looking after your battery
- Keep the laptop out of heat, such as a parked car or direct sun.
- If you work plugged in most of the time, use the charge limit many business laptops offer to stop charging at around 80%.
- Use the original charger or one with the right wattage.
